The Temptations, May 19th

Monday, February 19th, 2007

So they booked the Temptations for the spring Cruisin’ festival. I’m not usually one to shell out for Oldies groups, but I have to admit that for $35 this is a pretty good deal — even though Otis Williams is apparently the only original member still performing with the group. I have to say this seems less cheesy with a group like the Tempts, who have always had a revolving-door membership (check out the drama-filled biography here), than with, say, the Who — who are currently selling out arenas like DC’s Verizon center for 55 to 205 bucks. For half of the band! Townshend and Daltry are great and all, but I mean, depending on where you’re from, you could buy your Temptations ticket and your whole trip out to the OC to see them for not much more than that.

Look, kids, it’s a music blog!

Hello, Ocean City!

Welcome to Hear Music in Ocean City, a blog about local artists, live music events, and basically anything I can think of that has to do with music in Ocean City. Except that sometimes I branch out and write about music in Rehoboth or something, but nowhere you couldn’t reasonably drive to for a show from Ocean City. That’s the rule. Actually, that’s pretty much the only rule.

Please feel free to leave comments to tell me that I’m a genius, that I suck and have clearly never listened to music in my life, that you want to marry me and buy me a house, that I should buy Viagra/take out a home loan/watch your sexy webcam show, etc. I like comments because they mean that people are actually paying attention to me. Linking to the blog is another excellent way to show your appreciation. Or just kind of wave your lighter in the general direction of the monitor.

Enjoy the show!
