Beachfront Condos, Less Crowded Beach & Great for Families
Sometimes called “condo row” because of the many high-rises mixed in along the hotels and motels, Uptown tends to be quieter and is more family-oriented. The beach is calmer, but many of the attractions, dining and entertainment options require driving. Northside Park, home to sports fields, free events, and the award-winning Winterfest of Lights, is found uptown. There, you’ll also find the Original Greene Turtle, Gold Coast Mall and many of the locals’ favorite hangouts. By gaining access to North Ocean City across the Route 90 bridge, you’ll alleviate some traffic woes by avoiding downtown Ocean City. Plus, you can always leave your car in the lot where there’s mostly free parking and take the bus downtown to visit the Boardwalk. POPULAR PLACES TO STAY The Ashore Resort and Beach Club offers great dining and fabulous views of the ocean from their restaurant, the Tide Room. The Carousel Oceanfront Resort Hotel on 117th Street has Ocean City’s only indoor ice rink, multiple dining options, an outdoor patio with live music, both indoor and outdoor pools, a spa/gym/sauna, and a plethora of special events, you will find plenty for kids and adults alike to enjoy! Princess Royale, the largest all suite resort in Ocean City. Located beach front, it offers two room suites with fully equipped kitchenettes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or suites overlooking the large indoor heated swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas and four-story glass atrium. The Fenwick Inn was completely revolted in 2023, and now has beautiful new rooms, an indoor pool and hot tub, plus a pirate-themed splash pad, and the brand new Vista Rooftop Bar and Restaurant.
