Ocean City, Maryland – (August 22, 2016): The Town of Ocean City is accepting applications for the 2016 semester of Ocean City University.ย Residents and visitors can learn more about the Townโs municipal government and the services it provides by attending a series of courses that offer citizens a diverse background on Ocean City.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., beginning September 14. The ten week course is free and will cover a number of topics, including public works, public safety, tourism, finance and a variety of areas related to Ocean Cityโs municipal government.
โThe goal of Ocean City University is to provide a better understanding of governmentโs role and relationship with citizens, as well as continue to build the relationship between government and residents to improve our communityโs quality of life,โ said Doug Miller, City Manager for the Town of Ocean City.ย โWe hope this course gives citizens a sense of ownership in government actions because we believe informed citizens can make a difference in the community.โ
