The Best Places to View the Air Show in Ocean City
The Air Show stage covers about 2 miles, so it will be hard to miss, but anywhere on the beach and Boardwalk between 6th and 26th street should be a prime spot. The show’s center will be between 13th and 17th street.
You can watch for free from most of Ocean City, but the ticketed areas will offer the best viewing, show narration, reserved seating and dedicated bathrooms.
Viewing By Boat
Watching the Ocean City Air Show by boat is a popular way to view the show. There is some restricted area and a designated area and rules for watching by boat.
Aircraft Performing in the Show
The Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori are visiting the USA for the first time in over 30 years. Their performance will commemorate the 500th anniversary of Giovanni da Verrazzano’s expedition to America in 1524. Also known as the “Tricolour Arrows” in English, they are officially designated as the 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale. The Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team comprises of ten aircraft, holding the distinction of being the world’s largest acrobatic patrol. Their 30-minute display will showcase their awe-inspiring skills, bringing a touch of Italian flair to the skies over Ocean City.
The F-22 Raptor is the fastest and most maneuverable fighter jet in the world today. The F-22’s twin engines produce more thrust than any other fighter. Combined with its sleek aerodynamic design, this allows the F-22 to “Supercruise” at 1.5 times the speed of sound without using fuel consuming afterburner. The F-22’s unique thrust vectoring and advanced flight controls allow it to outmaneuver any other aircraft. The F-22 Raptor demo puts thrust vectoring on full display during its demonstration defying imagination as it climbs straight up, stops in mid-air, then reverses towards the ground before flipping the nose around in a summersault at near zero forward speed. The F-22 makes sharp, sudden turns displacing and compress air into vapor and you often see the Raptor creating its own weather system with massive clouds that engulf the jet.
The U.S. Navy E/A-18 GROWLERS will join the F-22 RAPTOR and Italian Air Force FRECCE TRICOLORI at the OC Air Show.
The Maryland Air National Guard A-10 WARTHOGS from the 175th Wing will invade the airspace during the 2024 OC Air Show on August 24-25!

Air Show
All the major acts will perform both days. The specific line-ups of each day’s show are posted about 1-2 weeks prior to the show.
A good portion of the show is viewable from 6th Street to 26th Street. The ticketed beach areas are at show center from 13th Street to 17th Street. We cannot guarantee views outside of the ticketed areas.
Ear protection is recommended, especially for children under 5 who may be startled by the noise of the aerial performance teams.
Traffic during the Air Show is very busy, so if at all possible, leave the car behind and either walk or take the bus. If you need to take the car, you can park at the West Ocean City Park and Ride, and then either walk or take the bus over the Rout 50 Bridge. After the show is finished, don’t plan to be any where fast! Spend sometime at the beach, stay for dinner, then head home or back to your hotel.
Practice schedules are subject to change and are therefore not published. You will likely see planes flying all throughout the week prior to the show. We are unable to post the practice schedules as they are subject to change.
I would love to see this event in 2025.
